Leading the Way to Meaningful Employment

Harc, Inc.'s microenterprises provide individuals with disabilities a unique opportunity to explore their passions while positively contributing to the community. These small businesses, run by Harc participants, empower individuals to take charge of their own ventures, whether it's crafting handmade goods, offering specialized services, or pursuing other entrepreneurial endeavors. Through these enterprises, participants gain valuable work experience, build confidence, and engage meaningfully with the broader community, all while showcasing their talents and fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Rolling Lens Photography

Franny lives in the heart of our state's capital, Hartford, Connecticut. Franny uses her wheelchair to get around. She uses her tablet to communicate and take pictures of the world around her.

Franny's pictures capture the world with her own unique energy. Joy and pride. Franny celebrates her community throughout her creative lens. Each photo reflects the importance of seeing the world from a different perspective.

Franny's business is called Rolling Lens Photography. Recently, Franny completed a series of photos at the Capitol highlighting the beauty of architecture from her point of view. Her photo cards are sold in a multi-pack, at the State Capitol gift shop.

The Artisan Studio focuses on nurturing the artistic talents of Harc participants, helping them develop unique art skills through guided projects. Their creations are featured at various community events, such as the United Way Power of the Purse and Impact Awards, where their handcrafted centerpieces are in high demand.
